Shippensburg used a 22-2 first half run to build a 20-point halftime lead on its way to dealing Pitt-Johnstown a 76-45 PSAC Crossover loss, Wednesday night in Shippensburg.Â
Alexis Hartwick scored a career-high 16 points and
Jamie Tabon added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Lady Cats, who dropped to 7-13 overall and 3-11 in the PSAC Western Division.

Pitt-Johnstown started slow and Shippensburg took advantage of it. The Lady Cats shot just 30% in the first half and the Red Raiders forced 17 first half Pitt-Johnstown turnovers.

Tabon hit a 3-pointer and scored in the paint to give Pitt-Johnstown an early lead, but Shippensburg outscored the Lady Cats 18-2 over the final 8:37 of the first quarter to build a 14-point advantage on its own.

Stephanie Knauer and Logan Snyder combined for 10 points, before a jumper by Chanice Lee and a 3-pointer by Lauren Gold put the Raiders in front 21-7.

Baskets from Snyder and Knauer to open the second quarter extended the run to 22-2, before
Olivia McCabe made a pair free-throws for Pitt-Johnstown to make it 25-9.

The Lady Cats cut it to 27-13 with 5:32 left in the half on buckets from
Laurel O'Barto and Tabon, but Shippensburg scored eight of the final 10 points to take a 35-15 lead into the break.

Back-to-back baskets by
Gabrielle Smith and Tabon early in the third quarter but the Pitt-Johnstown deficit to 16, but the Raiders answered with a 13-2 spurt over the next five minutes to push the lead to 50-23 with three minutes left in the quarter.

Hartwick's 3-pointer at the buzzer got the deficit down to 56-34 entering the final quarter.

Another 3-pointer by Hartwick with 4:33 to play got the Lady Cats as close as 20, but Shippensburg closed out the 31-point victory with a 12-1 run.

Hartwick finished with a game-high 16 points, including 4-6 from 3-point range, and Tabon added 15 points and seven rebounds for Pitt-Johnstown. Smith also had six point and six rebounds.

The Lady Cats, who held a slim 30-277 advantage on the glass, shot 37.8% (17-45) from the field, 5-17 from 3-point range, and 6-11 from the free-throw line. Shippensburg shot 54.9% (28-51) from the floor, 2-6 from behind the 3-point line, and 18-26 from the charity stripe. The raiders also turned 26 Pitt-Johnstown turnovers into 23 points.

Knauer had 14 points, while Colleen Young, Lauren Gold, and Snyder chipped-in 11 points apiece for the Raiders, who improved to 15-5 overall and 10-4 in the PSAC East.

The Lady Cats travel to PSAC games at Clarion on Saturday and at Gannon on February 1. Pitt-Johnstown will return home to host a conference doubleheader with the Mountain Cats against Edinboro on February 4 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
