Luke Williams all hit a pair of homeruns to help the Mountain Cat baseball team open the 2017 season with 12-8 and 13-0 victories over Fairmont State (WV) University, Saturday afternoon in Mooresville, NC.

In game one, Boyer and Hileman were each 2-for-4 with two homers and four RBI, and
Jack Shirk added two hits and scored three runs in the 12-8 win.

Brantley Rice started and held the Falcons to three runs on two hits over the first four innings.Â
Ty Treaster picked up the win in relief after tossing three hitless innings and striking out three.

In the nightcap, Williams was 4-for-4 with two homeruns and seven RBI, and Boyer homered, drove in four, and scored three times for Pitt-Johnstown.

Brady Walker earned the win in his collegiate debut. Walker pitched five scoreless innings, walked one and fanned six.

Pitt-Johnstown travels to Williamston, NC on Saturday and Sunday to take on Milersville and Bloomsburg and to Concord (WV) on February 25-26. The Mountain Cats will make their 2017 home debut with a non-conference doubleheader against Lock Haven on March 8 at Point Stadium.
