Luke Williams and
Scott Thompson each belted two run homeruns to lead Pitt-Johnstown to a 7-5 victory over No. 4 Millersville in Saturday's doubleheader opener in Williamston, NC. The Marauders secured the split with an 11-7 win in game two. The Mountain Cats are now 5-1.

In game one, Pitt-Johnstown scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning off of Millersville starter David Manasek and went on to hold off the Marauders, 7-5.

Brett Hileman's double to center scored
Dillon Boyer to put the Mountain Cats in front, before Williams and Thompson increased to 6-0 with two-run homeruns. Pitt-Johnstown made it 7-0 later in the inning when Hileman was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Williams finished 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI, and Thompson added two hits, including a two-run homer and a double for Pitt-Johnstown. Hileman doubled and had two RBI.

Brantley Rice improved to 2-0 after allowing five runs on five hits over the first five innings.Â
Ben Foose pitched two scoreless innings and struck out two to earn the save.

In the nightcap, Dan Neff's second homerun of the game started a streak of three straight homers in Millersville's seven-run fourth inning that erased a one-run one deficit and propelled the Marauders to the 11-7 win.

After
Jack Shirk's RBI single and a two-run error by Millersville gave Pitt-Johnstown a 4-3 lead in the top of the fourth, Neff hit the two-run homer that tied it, and Chas McCormick and Mitch Stoltzfus followed with solo shots that made it 7-4. Millersville went on to add three more runs in the frame to open-up a 10-4 advantage.

Hileman had two more hits, while Shirk drove in one and scored twice, and
Dylan Conrad collected a two-run double in the Mountain Cat seventh.

Brady Walker suffered the loss for Pitt-Johnstown after surrendering five runs on eight hits in 3.1 innings. Walker also walked one and fanned six.

Millersville is now 5-1.

Pitt-Johnstown closes out the week end trip in Williamston, NC on Sunday with a doubleheader against Bloomsburg, before traveling to Concord (WV) next weekend. The Mountain cats will make their 2017 home debut with a non-conference doubleheader against Lock Haven on March 8 at Point Stadium.
