After suffering a 9-3 loss to Bloomsburg University in Sunday's doubleheader-opener in Williamston, N.C., the Mountain Cats got a 3-run homerun from
Luke Williams to bounce back and secure a split with an 8-7 win in the nightcap. Pitt-Johnstown is now 6-2.

In game one,
Dan Clark went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI, and Williams drove in one to lead Pitt-Johnstown.

Camden Hess suffered the loss after giving up six runs (3 earned) on two hits in just 1/3 of an inning.Â
Shane Supanick pitched the final 4 2/3 innings and held Bloomsburg to three runs (1 earned) on four hits. Supanick also walked one and struck out four.

In game two, Williams belted the 3-run homer, while
Jack Shirk,
Joe Gagliardi, and
Dylan Conrad all had two hits and drove in a run for the Mountain Cats.Â
Dillon Boyer added a pair of hits.

Nate Bearer earned the win after pitching the first 4 1/3 innings and allowing five runs on five Huskies' hits.Â
Ben Foose tossed the seventh inning and picked-up his second save in as many days.

With the split, Bloomsburg is 2-2 to start the season.

Pitt-Johnstown travels to Concord (WV) on Saturday and Sunday and to the University of Charleston on March 4 and 5, before making its 2017 home debut with a non-conference doubleheader against Lock Haven on March 8 at Point Stadium.
