Pitt-Johnstown got a game-high 21 points and seven rebounds from
Isaac Vescovi and used a 26-7 first half run to run out to a 14-point halftime lead to secure a first round home PSAC Tournament game with a 75-61 conference victory at Seton Hill on Wednesday. The Mountain Cats made it three straight wins and improved to 17-10 overall and 12-9 in the PSAC West.

Spencer Casson's dunk gave Seton Hill 13-8 lead five minutes in, but Pitt-Johnstown came back and outscored the Griffins 26-7 the rest of the way highlighted to build a 14-point halftime advantage.

Two straight baskets by Vescovi and a 3-pointer from
Jake Laravie gave Pitt-Johnstown its first lead of the night, before
Levi Masua's lay-up increased it into double figures at 27-17 at the 5-minute mark.

Dale Clancy followed with a 3-pointer with 4:21 left, before a pair of Masua free-throws and a basket in the paint by
A.J. Leahey put the Mountain Cats in front, 34-20 at the break.

Pitt-Johnstown continued to build on the lead and made it 47-29 on Leahey's 3-pointer at 14:36.

Seton Hill tried to get back in it and scored the next seven points to cut it to 11 three minutes later on five straight points by Milenko Predic.

After
Josh Wise's 3-pointer quickly extended back out to 16, the Griffins continued to battle and narrowed to 70-61 with 2:17 to play, but that was as it would get.

Vescovi's 21 points and seven rebounds led four Mountain Cats who scored in double figures. Clancy had 19 points, five rebounds, and six assists, Leahey had 10 points and seven rebounds, and Wise chipped-in 11 points off the bench. Pitt-Johnstown also got six points and six rebounds from Masua and six points from Laravie.

Leahey is seventh on the Mountain Cat All-Time Scoring List with 1,495 points, fifth on the all-time rebounding list with 683, and fourth on the 3-point field goals list with 234. Clancy stands in eighth-place on the Mountain Cat All-Time Assists List with 369 and is 25 points shy of becoming Pitt-Johnstown's 28
th 1,000-point scorer.

Pitt-Johnstown ended the night shooting 52.9% (27-51) from the floor, 9-23 from 3-point range, and 12-13 from the free-throw line. The Mountain Cats also held the Griffins to 44.4% (24-54) shooting, including just 2-13 from behind the 3-point line. Seton Hill was 11-18 from the charity stripe.

Noah Davis scored 12 points, and Fernando Salsamondi and Predic each scored nine points to lead Seton Hill, which fell to 11-15 overall and 8-14 in the PSAC West.

The Mountain Cats will end the regular season and celebrate Senior Day with a PSAC doubleheader with the Lady Cats against Slippery Rock on Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m. in the Sports Center, before hosting a First Round PSAC Tournament game against an opponent to be determined on Monday at 7 p.m.
