After falling behind 3-0 early,
Joe Gagliardi belted a two-run home run to highlight a four-run Pitt-Johnstown sixth inning that helped the Mountain Cats battle back for an 8-5 non-conference victory over Shippensburg University, Tuesday afternoon at Point Stadium. Pitt-Johnstown evened its record at 10-10.

Shippensburg scored one in the first and two more in the top of the third, before the Mountain Cats answered with three in the bottom of the frame. Pitt-Johnstown loaded the bases with one out, and
Brett Hileman cleared the bases with a three-run double to right center to tie it.

The Raiders added one in the fourth on Cash Gladfelter's RBI bunt single, but Pitt-Johnstown came back with four runs in the sixth. Gagliardi's two-run homer gave the Mountain Cats their first lead of the day. Later in the inning,
Dylan Kerstetter tripled home
Scott Lucas, before scoring on a wild pitch to put Pitt-Johnstown in front 7-4.

The Mountain Cats tacked on an insurance run in the eighth, and Hileman came in and pitched a scoreless ninth to pick-up his first save of the season.

Gagliardi homered and drove in two, while Hileman singled, doubled and had three RBI for Pitt-Johnstown. Kerstetter had two hits, including a triple, and two RBI, and
Jack Shirk singled twice for the Mountain Cats.

Dan Clark earned the win in relief and improved to 1-0 after holding Shippensburg scoreless on one hit in two innings of work.Â
Shane Supanick started and got the no-decision. Supanick allowed three runs on five hits over the first three innings.

Ryan McMillen went 3-for-4 with a double, and Jack Kennedy drove in two runs for the Raiders, who fell to 3-9.

Pitt-Johnstown will open PSAC-play with a doubleheader against California University (PA) on Friday at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium, before concluding the four-game series in Washington, PA on Saturday.
