Pitt-Johnstown scored six runs over the final two innings to open Saturday's PSAC doubleheader at Point Stadium with a 10-8 win over Gannon University, before getting home runs from Jack Schirk and
Dan Clark and a complete-game from
Brantley Rice to complete the sweep with a 3-2 win in the nightcap. The Mountain Cats improved to 13-17 overall and 3-7 in the PSAC West.

In the opener, Gannon sent eight men to the plate and struck for three runs in the top of the first off of Pitt-Johnstown starter
Brady Walker. The Mountain Cats came back with two in the bottom of the frame.
Evan Appleby's fielder's choice scored
Dillon Boyer from third and
Jack Shirk scored from second on a throwing error by Gannon shortstop by Cody Callaway.

Dylan Kerstetter tied it with an RBI double in the Pitt-Johnstown second, before Gannon regained the lead, 4-3, with another run in the top of the third.

The Mountain Cats tied it again in the fourth on
Brett Hileman's single to right field that chased home
Dillon Boyer from second.

The Golden knights added four more in the fifth. With two outs, Nick Restuccia doubled home two to make it 6-4. Andrew Wagner struck out but reached on a throwing error by Hileman, and Austin O'Shei followed with a two run single up the middle.

The lead didn't last long. In the Pitt-Johnstown fifth, Gannon reliever Joey Colosi walked the bases loaded. Kerstetter had a sacrifice fly and Shirk drew a bases loaded walk to cut it to 8-6. The Mountain Cats then tied it on Hileman's two-run single to right.

Pitt-Johnstown kept it going and took its first lead of the day with two more runs in the sixth.Â
Brad Coleman then went out and worked out of a seventh-inning jam to earn the win and even his record at 1-1.

Coleman pitched the final 2 1/3 innings and held the Golden Knights scoreless on just two hits. He also walked one and struck out two.  Â

Kerstetter went 3-for-3 with three RBI, while Hileman also had three hits and drove in three to lead the Mountain Cats. Clark added a pair of hits, and Shirk and Appleby each had an RBI.

In game two, Shirk connected for a solo home run in Pitt-Johnstown's half of the first inning, before
Scott Thompson's double down the left field line in the Mountain Cat second made it 2-0.

Gannon answered with an unearned run off of
Brantley Rice in the third.

It stayed that way until the sixth when Clark's solo homer to left-center increased the Pitt-Johnstown lead to 3-1.

Gannon got a pinch-hit solo home run from Nate Card in the seventh, but Rice got the next two hitters to finish the complete-game victory.

Rice, who improved to 3-2, held the Golden Knights to two runs (1 earned) on five hits in seven innings. He also walked three and fanned four.

Shirk homered, doubled, and drove in two, and hit hit a solo home run and scored twice for the Mountain Cats. Thompson also had an RBI double.

With the losses, Gannon fell to 13-13 overall and 3-7 in the PSAC West.

Pitt-Johnstown travels to Erie to complete the four-game series on Sunday, before going to Seton Hill on Friday to open four-game home-and-home series.
