Two of the top NCAA Division II teams met on Sunday in Wheeling, W.Va. when sixth-ranked Pitt-Johnstown visited fifth-ranked Wheeling Jesuit University.  The Mountain Cats got a technical fall from returning National Champion Chris Eddins at 149 lbs. and a 16-6 major decision from Brock Biddle over fourth-ranked Aidan Pasiuk at 184 lbs. to secure a 19-15 victory over the Cardinals.  Fifth-ranked Devin Austin also picked-up a decision win over eighth-ranked Keegan Driscoll at 165 lbs. for Pitt-Johnstown, which improved to 2-0.
 
Wheeling Jesuit jumped out to a quick 6-0 start with wins at 125 and 133 lbs.  Cole Laya opened the match with a 7-2 decision over Brendan Howard and fifth-ranked Tyler Warner dealt Matt Siszka a 6-0 loss at 133 lbs.
 
Pitt-Johnstown bounced right back to take its first lead of the afternoon.  Sixth-ranked Joey Alessandro earned a 7-2 decision over Jared Donahue at 141 lbs., before Eddins, ranked fourth at 149 lbs., won a dominating 17-0 Technical Fall at 3:40 over Tyler Alberts to give the Mountain Cats a 7-6 lead.
 
The Cardinals' Christian Rivera defeated Gage Thomas, 7-4, at 157 lbs. to regain the lead by one setting up a match-up between Pitt-Johnstown's fifth-ranked Austin and Wheeling Jesuit's eighth-ranked Driscoll at 165 lbs.  After a scoreless first period, Austin got an escape to begin the second period and held that 1-0 lead going into the third period.  Driscoll escaped early in the third period to tie it, but Austin's take down with :30 to secure the 3-1 win and put the Mountain Cats on top 11-9.
 
Wheeling Jesuit followed with Connor Craig's 10-6 win over No. 9 Steve Edwards at 184 lbs. to retake the lead, but Biddle answered in a big way for the Mountain Cats.  Biddle scored a 16-6 major decision over fourth-ranked Pasiuk at 184 lbs. to give the Pitt-Johnstown a 15-12 lead that it would never give up.
 
The Mountain Cats built the lead to 19-12 and sealed the match at 197 lbs. with ninth-ranked Levi Niebauer's 12-0 major decision over Dalton Hoover.
 
With the match already decided, Wheeling Jesuit's No. 1-ranked and defending National Champion at 285 lbs. Terrance Fanning was able to hold off Tyler Oliver, 9-5 and set the final at 19-15.
 
With the loss, Wheeling Jesuit slipped to 1-2.
 
Pitt-Johnstown will make its 2018-19 home debut and open the PSAC schedule against 18^th-ranked Millersville University on Friday, at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to #18 Kutztown University on November 20.
