For the fourth straight week, a Pitt-Johnstown men's basketball player was named PSAC West Freshman of the Week. On Monday,
Joe Batt became the Mountain Cats' third different Freshman of the Week honoree after pouring in a career-high 28 points in Pitt-Johnstown's 109-97 victory over Kutztown University, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center.
Batt shot 6-10 from the floor, 4-6 from 3-point range, and a perfect 12-12 from the free-throw line for his 28 points. Batt also scored 11 points, including three consecutive 3-pointers, in a 22-5 Mountain Cat run that erased a 13-point first-half deficit.
In addition, Batt collected five rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block in 29 minutes.
Batt is now the third Pitt-Johnstown men's basketball player to secure the honor this season. He joins two-time PSAC West Freshman of the Week
John Paul Kromka and last week's honoree
Jared Jakubick.
