The Pitt-Johnstown baseball team dropped game one of their double head against the East Stroudsburg Warriors, 7-6 Saturday afternoon at the Cal Ripken complex. The Mountain Cats fell to 2-8 on the season and East Stroudsburg improved to 7-5.

East Stroudsburg got on the scoreboard first on Christian Rishel's sacrifice fly that scored Steven Zimmerman. The Warriors made it 2-0 in the first inning when P.J. Van Orman singled up the middle scoring Brock Kauffman.

Tanner Cook led off the top of the third inning with a double and came around to score on a
Jack Shirk single.

After a Laine Renaud and Rishel single, Renaud would come around to score on an error to make it 3-1.

East Stroudsburg added two in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a Kauffman single that scored Brainy Rojas. Kauffman would later score when Renaud doubled to make it, 5-1.

After three straight one-out singles from Cook,
Dylan Kerstetter and Shirk in the top of the fifth inning; the Mountain Cats pushed a run across when
Dan Clark reached on a fielder's choice, to make it, 5-2.

In the top of the sixth inning, Pitt-Johnstown tied it up thanks to a
Zach Zinn RBI single that scored Cam Gerhard and a two-RBI double from Kerstetter.

East Stroudsburg broke the tie in the bottom of the sixth inning when Zimmerman blasted a solo homerun to make it 6-5

Offensively, the Mountain Cats were led by Kerstetter who finished the day going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI's.
Tanner Cook went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Gerhard, Shirk and Clark each finished going 2-for-4.

Ben Foose got the start and no decision for Pitt-Johnstown. Foose pitched three innings giving up three runs, zero earned on five hits.

Foose was relieved by
Shane Supanick who pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two earned runs on four hits and striking out one.
Eric Ford took the loss for the Mountain Cats. Ford went 1 1/3 innings giving up one run on one hit.

The Mountain Cats will conclude their series against East Stroudsburg at 3:30, before their home opener Friday at Point Stadium.
