After two straight PSAC road matches, the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team returns home to host a non-conference match against Salem (WV) University on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
Pitt-Johnstown, 3-6-0 under
Coach Vito Addalli, got two goals from
Abby LaDuke and three assists from
Kyra Watkins in a 3-1 PSAC win at California (PA) last Wednesday. On Saturday, Marissa Shields' goal midway through the second overtime lifted Edinboro to a 1-0 victory over the Pitt-Johnstown.
First-year
Coach Theophilus Egbele's Salem Tigers come into the match at 1-8-0 following a 5-0 loss at West Virginia Wesleyan on September 29 and a 3-0 home loss to Felician (NJ) on Saturday.
Pitt-Johnstown holds a 7-1 advantage in the series that dates back to the 2006 season. After suffering a loss in the first meeting, the Mountain Cats have won the last seven meetings, including a 3-0 victory at Salem on October 9, 2012.
The Mountain Cats will host a PSAC match against Gannon on Saturday at noon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before visiting Slippery Rock for a conference match next Wednesday.
