Top-ranked Chris Eddins won by technical fall at 149 lbs. and No. 2-ranked Devin Austin (165 lbs.) and No. 3-ranked Connor Craig (184 lbs.) both won by major decision to lead the No. 1-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers to a 25-12 win over Ithaca (NY) College in Saturday First Round of the North East Duals in Troy, NY.
 
The Mountain Cats jumped out to a 6-0 lead with decision wins from No. 7 Brandon Howard at 125 lbs. and No. 1-ranked Tyler Warner at 133 lbs., but Ithaca cut the deficit in half when Ben Brisman won an 8-3 decision over Jacob Ealy at 141 lbs.
 
Eddins got Pitt-Johnstown's lead out to 11-3 with his technical fall at 5:19 over Matthew Beyer, before Al Cicitto pinned Nate Smith at 2:27 to get Ithaca back to within two at 11-9.
 
Austin then defeated Adam Wagner, 8-0, at 165 lbs. to rebuild the lead to 15-9.
 
After Ithaca won a 9-5 decision at 174 lbs., the Mountain cats regained control and won the final three bouts.  Craig scored a 14-1 major decision over Eze Chukwuezi at 184 lbs., and Alex Delp (197 lbs.) and Allan Beattie (285 lbs.) both won by decision to give the Mountain Cats the 25-12 win.
