Due to weather, this weekend's four-game, PSAC baseball series against Indiana (PA) has been adjusted. Pitt-Johnstown was scheduled to travel to IUP on Friday, but that doubleheader has been moved to Point Stadium at 1 p.m. If IUP's field is playable, Pitt-Johnstown will travel to IUP on Saturday. If not, Saturday's doubleheader will be moved to Point Stadium with a start time to be determined.
Pitt-Johnstown, 13-9 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC Western Division, split a pair of home games with 11
th-ranked Mercyhurst to open PSAC-play last Saturday, before dropping two games in Erie on Sunday. The Mountain Cats suffered a 5-3 loss in game one of the series, but answered with a 5-3 win behind
Dylan Heid's complete-game, 13-strikeout effort. The Lakers went on to wins Sunday's games, 7-3 and 5-4.
Head Coach Anthony Rebyanski's's (3
rd year) IUP Crimson Hawks are 6-11 overall and 0-4 in the PSAC West after dropping four straight conference games to California (PA) last weekend. The Vulcans picked-up 3-1 and 4-2 win in California, Pa. on Saturday, then completed the sweep with 6-3 and 7-6 wins in Indiana on Sunday.
Last year, the Mountain Cats won three-of-four games against the Crimson Hawks. On March 25 at Point Stadium, Pitt-Johnstown got a walk-off base hit from
Cameron Gerhard in a 7-6 win, before completing the sweep with a 12-9 come-from-behind victory in the nightcap. The next day, the Mountain Cats earned a 10-5 win to start the doubleheader in Indiana, but the Crimson Hawks came back with a 3-2 win in the series finale.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a pair of PSAC games against California (PA) on Friday at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium, before completing the series with two games in Washington, Pa. next Saturday.
