The Pitt-Johnstown men's track and field team got its Indoor Season off to a strong start with five individual champions and a pair of second-place finishers at Saturday's West Virginia University Open in Morgantown, W.Va.
Connor Harriman won both the 3,000-Meter Run (9:05.68) and 5,000-Meter Run (15:44.82) to qualify for the PSAC Indoor Championships, while Chris Colligan finished first in the High Jump at 6'3.25" to set a Mountain Cat record and qualify for the PSAC Championships.. In addition, Jalen Cooper won the Shot Put at 43'5" and set a Pitt-Johnstown record, and Hunter Lindsay placed first in the Weight Throw (46'1.50") to qualify for the PSAC Championships.
The Mountain Cats also got second-place finishes from
Turner Paul in the 400-Meter Run (54.1) and
Brock Fisher in the Pole Vault (12'5"). Fisher also qualified for the PSAC Championships.
In addition, Zac Wagner placed third in the 60-Meter Dash at 7.15 to qualify for the PSAC Championships, and Cooper was third in the Weight Throw at 43'5".
