Alli McGrath's game-high 18 points and
Ashley Norling's career-high 14 points,, Pitt-Johnstown outscored Mansfield by 17 in the third quarter to turn a six-point halftime lead into an 84-59 PSAC Crossover victory, Wednesday evening in the Sports Center. The Mountain Cats have won five of their last six and improved to 12-8 overall and 7-7 in the PSAC West.
McGrath's 18 points paced four Pitt-Johnstown double-digit scorers. Norling scored a career-high 14 points off the bench, while
Gabrielle Smith had 13 points and six rebounds, and
Makalyn Clapper chipped-in 10 points off the bench. The Mountain Cats also got eight points, five rebounds, and a game-high six assists from
Olivia Fasick, six points from
Lindsay Shuke, and five points, seven rebounds, and four assists from
Maddie Shanahan.

Pitt-Johnstown jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead on Fasick's layup, but Mansfield clawed back to make it 16-14 on a Paige Whitfield 3-pointer late in the opening quarter.
The Mountain Cats never gave up the lead and shot 82% in the second quarter to take a six-point halftime lead. Eight points from Norling over the first five minutes of the quarter, followed by a pair of McGrath free-throws, pushed the lead into double digits at 31-21. Fasick's 3-pointer at 1:35 got the lead to 12, before the Mounties scored the final six points of the half to cut it to 38-32 on Jasmine Perez's bucket.
That's as close as it would get. Pitt-Johnstown outscored Mansfield 29-12 in the third quarter to break it open. Six straight points from Fasick midway through the

quarter increased it to 18 and Clapper's free-throws at the 3:40 mark got the lead out to 24.
The Mountain Cats built their largest lead of the night at 74-46 on Smith's layup with 5:40 to play and coasted to the victory.
Pitt-Johnstown, which out-rebounded Mansfield 41-32 and held a 48-22 advantage in point in the paint, ended the night shooting 52.5% (32-61) from the floor and 17-22 from the line. The Mounties were held to just 34.4% (21-61) shooting. Mansfield was also 7-25 from 3-point range, and 10-15 from the free-throw line.

Whitfield had 13 points, and Perez added eight points and a game-high nine rebounds for Mansfield, which fell to 3-17 overall and 1-13 in the PSAC East.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Gannon for a conference game on Saturday, before returning home to host PSAC doubleheaders with the men against California (PA) on Wednesday and Edinboro for Alumni Day on February 8.
