The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's basketball teams will welcome PSAC rival California (PA) to the Sports Center on Wednesday. The women will tip-off against the Vulcans at 5:30 p.m., before two of the top-3 teams in the PSAC Western Division meet in the men's game at 7:30 p.m.

     Head Coach Mike Drahos' Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats, 12-9 overall and 7-8 in the PSAC West, split a pair of conference games last week. On Wednesday, Pitt-Johnstown dealt Mansfield an 84-59 loss in the Sports Center, then suffered a 69-59 loss at Gannon on Saturday.Â
Olivia Fasick had game-highs of 18 points and five steals, while
Ashley Norling and
Gabrielle Smith added 12 and 11 points respectively, for the Mountain Cats against the Golden Knights.
     Nationally for the Mountain Cats, Smith ranks fourth in free-throws made (131) and sixth in free-throws attempted (157), while Fasick is 47
th in steals (49) and 67
th in steals per game (2.3) and
Alli McGrath is 54
th in free-throw percentage (84.9%).
     Smith ranks 10
th on the Pitt-Johnstown All-Time Scoring List with 1,432 points and 24
th on the rebounding list with 549 rebounds,
     California (PA), 15-6 overall and 9-6 in the PSAC West under ninth-year
Head Coach Jess Strom, picked up a pair of PSAC home wins last week. The Vulcans earned a 66-46 win over Clarion on Wednesday and a 76-59 victory over Slippery Rock on Saturday behind
Shauna Harrison's game-high 18 points.Â

Olivia Hudson chipped-in 15 points apiece.

     California (PA) has won the last 12 meetings between the two teams, including an 80-57 victory in California, Pa. on January 3.Â
Jasper scored a game-high 17 points and had seven rebounds, and
DJ Hahn added 16 points and a game-high eight rebounds to pace five Vulcans who scored in double figures.Â
McGrath scored 18 points, while
Mia Oterson scored nine points, and
Norling chipped-in eight points and six rebounds to lead Pitt-Johnstown.

The Pitt-Johnstown men, tied for fifth in DII SIDA Atlantic Region rankings, and California (PA), ranked eighth in the region, come into Wednesday's match-up tied for second-place in the PSAC Western Division standings

    Head Coach Bob Rukavina's Mountain Cats are 17-5 overall and 11-4 in the PSAC West following a lopsided 107-69 home win over Mansfield on Wednesday and a 64-58 loss at Gannon on Saturday.Â
Drew Magestro (16 points) and
Donovian Maxfield (12 points) combined for 28 points and eight of Pitt-Johnstown's nine 3-pointers against the Golden Knights.Â
John Paul Kromka had eight points and seven rebounds, and
Caiden Landis added eight points and six rebounds.
    Nationally, Kromka is fourth in blocks (56), seventh in blocks per game (2.55), 16
th in field goal percentage (62.3%), and 58th in rebounds (171), while
Fred Mulbah ranks fifth in assists (165), seventh in assists per game (7.5), and 42nd in assist-to-turnover-ratio (2.36). As a team, Pitt-Johnstown is third in assists (424), sixth in assists per game (19.3), and ninth in field goal percentage (51.1%).

Jermaine Hall, Jr. hit five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 23 points, and
Brent Pegram chipped-in 21 points in Saturday's 98-70 win over The Rock.
    Nationally for the Vulcans, Pegram is 27

    The series between Pitt-Johnstown and California (PA) is knotted at 22, but the Mountain Cats have won nine of the last 10 meetings, including a 77-57 win in California on January 3.Â
Mulbah scored 16 points, while
Landis had 13 points and eight rebounds and
Kromka had 13 points and eight rebounds for Pitt-Johnstown.Â

House (12 points) also scored in double figures for the Vulcans.

Both Pitt-Johnstown teams will celebrate Alumni Day with a PSAC doubleheader against Edinboro on Saturday, before visiting Slippery Rock for a conference game next Wednesday. The women will tip-off Saturday's Alumni Day doubleheader at 5:00 p.m. with the men's game scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
