Luke Cimakasky placed 75th in a field of 162 runners to lead the Pitt-Johnstown men's cross country team at Saturday's 2022 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Cross Country Championships in Mansfield.
Concord's Isaac Prather won individual medalist honors with a time of 29:25.0 in the men's 9.5k race, but Charleston (WV) claimed the team title with 26 points, nine points better than second-pace Edinboro. Charleston's Thomas Termote (29:28.4) and Alejandro Abellaneda (29:29.8) placed second and third, respectively.
Cimakasky's time of 31:58.9 paced the Mountain Cats, while
Michael Hanik finished 105th at 32:58.4.Â
Tristan Landsberg placed 126th (34:09.6), while
Ben Brassart (133rd-34:45.6) and
Noah Lee (141st-35:16.1) rounded out Pitt-Johnstown's top-five runners in 2022's final race.
The Golden Eagles claimed the 2022 Atlantic Region title with 36 points. Edinboro (45 points), Concord (WV) (103 points), Davis & Elkins (WV) (128 points), and Shippensburg (134 points) were the top-five teams in the 23-team field. Pitt-Johnstown was 21st with 562 points.
