Tristan Landsberg finished 52nd in a field a 146 runners to lead the Pitt-Johnstown men's cross country team to a 14th-place finish at Saturday's 2022 PSAC Cross Country Championships in Mansfield.
Edinboro's Ward Ries paced the field with a time of 25:05, while teammate Connor Volk-Klos finished second at 25:07.4 to lead the Fighting Scots to the team title by 22 points over second-place Shippensburg.
Landsberg's time of 27:10.5 was tops for the Mountain Cats, while
Ben Brassart posted Pitt-Johnstown's second best time and finished 69th (27:35.6).Â
Luke Cimakasky (27:38.6) placed 72nd,
Michael Hanik (28:11.5) was 85th, and
Helaman Forsyth (28:48.4) was 97th to round out the top-five Mountain Cat runners.
Edinboro's 33 team points were 22 better second-place Shippensburg. Slippery Rock (86 points), California (PA) (110 points), and Lock Haven (180 points) were the top-five teams. Pitt-Johnstown placed 14th in the 16 team field with 339 points. This is the lowest total points that UPJ has scored since entering the PSAC in 2013-2014.Â
