Pitt-Johnstown To Host 2022 NCAA Division II Super Region I Wrestling Tournament, Saturday in Sports Center

        The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown will host the 2022 NCAA Division II Super Region I Wrestling Tournament, Saturday in the Sports Center.  Eleven teams and over 100 wrestlers are scheduled to participate, with the top-three wrestlers in each of the 10 weight classes advancing to the NCAA Division II National Tournament in St. Louis, Mo. on March 11 and 12.
 
        Brackets for this year's tournament will be released following a coaches' meeting Friday evening and all results, brackets, team standing, etc. will be updated on the Track Wrestling Website.  A link can be found on the Super Region I Tournament Website or the Track Wrestling link listed below.

     This year's Super Region I Tournament will feature five NCAA Division II nationally-ranked teams based on the tournament power index ranking, including Gannon and Mercyhurst, which are tied for 15th, No. 18 Kutztown University, No. 19 Pitt-Johnstown, and No. 24 American International (MA) College.
        Along with the nationally-ranked teams, Alderson Broaddus (WV) University, East Stroudsburg University, Fairmont State (WV) University, Millersville University, Seton Hill University, and Shippensburg University will also compete for an NCAA Regional Championship and individual spots in the National Tournament.
 
        In addition, 19 of the nation's top-ranked individuals will be battling for a spot in the NCAA Division II National Tournament, including top-ranked Andrew Dunn, Jr. (Kutztown (285 lbs.)., third-ranked Joel Leise (Gannon (197 lbs.), and fourth-ranked Jacob Robb (Mercyhurst (285 lbs.).
 
All 10 weight classes will feature at least one ranked-wrestler
        125 lbs. – No. 11 Tyshawn White (Shippensburg) and No. 12 Matt Wilde (Kutztown)
        133 lbs. No. 9 Eric Bartos (Mercyhurst) and No. 10 Collin Wickramaratna (Kutztown)
        141 lbs. – No. 8 Sean Johnson (American International)
        149 lbs. – No. 5 Jacob Ealy (Pitt-Johnstown) and No. 6 Dom Means (Gannon)
        157 lbs. – No. 9 JoJo Gonzalez (American International), No. 11 Nate Smith (Pitt-Johnstown), and
                            No. 12 Nick Young (Gannon)
        165 lbs. – No. 7 Dillon Keane (Pitt-Johnstown)
        174 lbs. – No. 8 Dillon Walker (Mercyhurst) and No. 9 Brock Biddle (Pitt-Johnstown)
        184 lbs. – No. 10 Luke McGonigal (Mercyhurst)
        197 lbs. – No. 3 Joel Leise (Gannon) and No. 5 Gino Sita (Alderson Broaddus)
        285 lbs. – No. 1 Andrew Dunn, Jr. (Kutztown), No. 4 Jacob Robb (Mercyhurst), and No. 11 Freddie Nixon (Gannon)
 
        Gannon, Mercyhurst, and Pitt-Johnstown lead the way with four individually-ranked wrestlers each, while Kutztown has three ranked wrestlers and American International has a pair of ranked wrestlers.
 
        Admission for the day will be $15 for adults and $10 for students, children, and seniors. If a spectator is coming for only one session, then the cost will be $8 for adults and $4 for students. There are no pass lists for this event.
 
        Each participating institution will be provided 15 credentials for coaches and participants, as well as credentials for any certified athletic trainers or SIDs who may come.  All others in attendance must pay the regular admission price.

This schedule is subject to change. Coaches will be notified at the Coaches Meeting if there are any alterations to this schedule.
