Head Coach Mike Drahos' Pitt-Johnstown women's basketball team earned the No. 6-seed in the Western Division to secure its third straight berth in the PSAC Women's Basketball Tournament. The Mountain Cats will travel to third-seeded Seton Hill for a First Round game on Monday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Greensburg.

The winner of Monday's opening round match-up advances to the PSAC Quarterfinals at Western Division No.2-Seeded Gannon on Wednesday.
The top six teams from both the Eastern and Western divisions earned an opportunity to compete in PSAC Women's Basketball Championship. The top two teams from each division earned a first-round bye. The highest remaining seed from the PSAC's Eastern Division will host the semifinals and finals. The tournament winner claims an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament.
Pitt-Johnstown ended the 2021-22 regular season at 12-16 overall and 10-12 in the PSAC West following Saturday's 58-37 loss at Indiana (PA).
Makalyn Clapper's double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds, and
Ashley Norling's eight points and eight rebounds led the Mountain Cats.
Norling (10.8 ppg.),
Peyton Alazaus (10.3 ppg.), and
Olivia Fasick (10.2 ppg.) lead the Mountain Cats in scoring, while Clapper is adding 9.6 ppg.
Molly Wagoner (6.3 rpg.), Norling (5.6 rpg.), and Clapper (5.6 rpg.) pace the team in rebounding, while Fasick leads Pitt-Johnstown in assists at 4.0.
Seton Hill, seeded third in the PSAC West under eighth-year
Head Coach Mark Katarski, closed out the regular season at 21-10 overall and 15-7 in the PSAC West after Saturday's 72-60 win at Edinboro.
Sonia Sardia had 19 points and six assists, while
Katie Nolan added 13 points and nine rebounds for the Griffins.
Nolan's 15.1 points and 10.1 rebounds and
Christiane Frye's 10.0 points pace Seton Hill, while
Samantha Kosmacki and
Cheyenne Trest are each averaging 8.5 points per game.
Pitt-Johnstown and Seton Hill split a pair of regular season games in 2021-22. On January 22, the Griffins picked-up a 65-58 victory in the Sports Center behind Nolan's 31 points and 15 rebounds. Pitt-Johnstown was led by
Kylah Franklin's 18 points, Norling's 12 points, and Wagoner's 10 points and seven rebounds. The Mountain Cats evened the series with a 70-63 win in Greensburg last Wednesday. Fasick scored a career-high 28 points, including 6-6 from 3-point range, and Alazaus and
Cassidy Crawford tallied 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Pitt-Johnstown. Nolan's 23 points and 12 rebounds led the Griffins.
