The Pitt-Johnstown men's golf team wrapped up the second day of the PSAC Championships tied for third place in the 10-team field along with Gannon after shooting a collective 309 at Iron Valley Golf Club on Saturday.
Mauricio Hernandez, who is tied for sixth place individually heading into the final round, fired a 2-over par 74 to set the pace for the Mountain Cats on Day 2. Ethan Webb sits tied for 12th after shooting a 5-over 77. Freshman Eli Ropietski finished with a 7-over 79 and is tied for 15th.
Justin Scally holds sole possession of 28th place after a 77 the first day and an 85 the second. Mario Battaglia is tied for 35th after shooting a 7-over 79.
The Mountain Cats sit just 13 strokes back of leader Millersville, which shot 10-over par collectively on Saturday to scrape out a 1-stroke lead over Indiana (PA).
The PSAC Championships finish up on Sunday with the third and final round. The end of the event also marks the conclusion of the fall season for Pitt-Johnstown, which recorded three top five finishes dating back to the start of September.
