

The Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team will close out its 2023 regular season home schedule and celebrate Senior Weekend with a pair of PSAC Western Division matches in the Sports Center. On Friday, the Mountain Cats will host division-leading Gannon at 6 p.m., before recognizing this year's seniors prior to Saturday's tip-off against Mercyhurst at 1 p.m.

Pitt-Johnstown split a pair of matches last weekend and are 17-8 overall and 7-5 in the PSAC West. On Friday, the Mountain Cats swept Clarion behind PSAC West Athlete of the Week
Lualis Alvarado's 14 kills, then suffered a three-set loss to IUP on Saturday. Alvarado added nine more kills against the Crimson Hawks.

Head Coach Matt Darling, has won 11 straight matches is 20-3 overall and 11-1 in the PSAC West. Last Friday,
Madde Blake had 20 kills in a 3-0 win over California (PA), before Blake tallied 14 more kills in a 3-0 win over Seton Hill on Saturday.
On Oct. 7, Pitt-Johnstown took on Gannon in Erie and suffered a 3-0 setback. Blake finished with a match-high 14 kills to lead the Golden Eagles.
Brooke Pelloni's eight kills paced the Mountain Cats.

Coach Ryan Patton was 4-16 overall and 2-10 in the PSAC West prior to Friday's match against Clarion. The Lakers got 10 kills each from
Kate Hennessy and
Andrea Zaric in last Friday's 3-1 win over Seton Hill, before Hennessy had 18 kills in a 3-1 loss to Slippery Rock on Saturday.
The Mountain Cats came away with a 3-1 victory over the Lakers in Erie on Oct. 1.
Mallory Pinkse and
Alvarado's 13 kills each for Pitt-Johnstown.
The Mountain Cats will close out the 2023 regular season with PSAC road matches at California (PA) on Friday and at Slippery Rock next Saturday.
