After nearly two weeks off, the Pitt-Johnstown men's basketball team will be back in action when its host Indianapolis, Friday evening in the Sports Center. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
Head Coach Bob Rukavina (35
th-year) and the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats come into the game at 2-5 after suffering a pair of tough road losses to begin PSAC Crossover-play. On Dec. 1,
Andy Zuchelli and
Ryan Smith each scored 17 points to pace four Mountain Cats double scorers in a, 80-66, setback at Lock Haven.
Andrew Shull (13 points) and
Gavin Headings (10 points) also scored in double figures against the Bald Eagles. Smith then scored 18 points, and Zuchelli tallied 14 points in a 68-58 loss at Mansfield on Dec. 2.
Nick Watts netted 10 points and pulled down a team-high six rebounds in the loss to the Mounties.
Indianapolis, under fourth-year
Head Coach Paul Corsaro, extended its winning streak to four straight games and improved to 6-4 following Saturday's, 90-76 home victory over Lewis (IL).
Jesse Bingham collected game-highs of 22 points and seven rebounds, while
Kendrick Tchoua and
Josiah Tynes added 17 and 10 points, respectively for the Greyhounds. Indianapolis also dealt Grand Valley State (MI) a 67-63 loss on Dec. 5 behind Bingham's 16 points and
David Ejah's 11 points and seven boards.
Friday marks the first ever meeting between Pitt-Johnstown and Indianapolis.
The Mountain Cats will host PSAC Crossover doubleheaders with the women's team against Bloomsburg on Monday evening and East Stroudsburg on Tuesday afternoon, before breaking for the holidays and visiting Kutztown for a conference crossover game on Dec. 30.
