The Pitt-Johnstown men's golf team remained in third place after the second day of the PSAC Men's Golf Championships at Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon.
The Mountain Cats are currently 26-over par, five strokes behind Millersville for second place in the nine-team field. After shooting a six-over 78 in the opening round, freshman Lucas Smith found plenty of fairways to fire a three-under 69 and move into sole possession of eighth place.
Eli Ropietski shot a three-over 75 and sits alone in 13th place at 7-over par. Freshman Jake Morgan is tied with two other players for 14th place after a 4-over 76 in each of the first two rounds.
Senior Justin Scally is locked into a tie for 18th with four other competitors following a 6-over 78 in round two. Junior Mauricio Hernandez shot an 8-over 80 in the second round and sits tied with four others for 24th place.
Gannon easily is outpacing the rest of the field at 5-over thanks to a 10-under par performance from its top five in round one. The Golden Knights' Mattia Parrini stands alone in first place at 4-under par.
The PSAC Men's Golf Championships and the fall portion of the Mountain Cats' schedule concludes with round three set for Sunday morning.
