Head Coach Pat Pecora and the Pitt-Johnstown wrestling program have added 10 highly decorated wrestlers in their 2024-25 recruiting class, including four transfers and six incoming freshmen.

The group of transfer student-athletes include: three-time PIAA AA State Champion
Brock McMillen (165 lbs.) (Coalport, Pa./Glendale HS/University of Pittsburgh), PIAA AAA State Runner-up
Brad Morrison (215 lbs.) (Landisburg, Pa./West Perry HS/Lock Haven University), PIAA AAA fourth-place finisher
Macon Myers (174 lbs.) (York, Pa./Central York HS/Bloomsburg University), and two-time National Junior College National College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Champion
Matt Sarbo (149 lbs.) (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area HS/Iowa Central Community College).

Along with the transfers, the Mountain Cats have added four incoming freshmen who were PIAA State place-winners and two other PIAA State qualifiers. The PIAA State place-winners include two-time AAA state place-winner
Elias Long (145 lbs.) (York, Pa./Central York HS), AAA fourth-place finisher
Tyson Cook (121 lbs.) (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton, Pa.), AA sixth-place finisher
Isaiah Pisano (160 lbs.) (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell HS), and AA seventh-place finisher
Trent Hoover (152 lbs.) (Cresson, Pa./Penn Cambria HS).

Josh Barlow (160 lbs.) (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett HS) and PIAA AA State Qualifier
Ricky Halford (160 lbs.) (Ringtown, Pa./North Schuylkill HS).

McMillen, a Glendale High School graduate and Pitt transfer, was a four-time PIAA state finalist and three-time PIAA AA State Champions. He posted a 144-8 career high school record, including going 24-0 as a senior in 2021). McMillen was 11-4 wrestling at Pitt in 2023-24.

Morrison, joining the Mountain Cats from Lock Haven University, was a three-time PIAA state qualifier and the 2022 state runner-up at 215 lbs. as a senior at West Perry High School. He closed out his high school career at 134-26.

Myers, the brother of Mountain Cat national qualifier
Mason Myers, comes to Pitt-Johnstown after red-shirting as a freshman last season at Bloomsburg. Myers, who went 106-34 at Central York High School, placed fourth at the 2022-23 PIAA AAA State Tournament at 172 lbs. Myers was also a Section Champion and a regional runner-up.

Sarbo, a four-time PIAA AAA State qualifier and a State-Place-winner in (YEAR) at Altoona Area High School comes to Pitt-Johnstown after winning back-to-back NJCAA National Championships at Iowa Central in 2023 and 2024 at 149 lbs. Sarbo was named the 2022-23 NJCAA National Freshman of the Year and the 2023-24 NJCAA National Wrestler of the Year. He closed out his high school career at 113-19.

Coach Pecora and the Mountain Cats also welcome four PIAA State place-winners, led by Long, who finished eighth and sixth at 145 lbs. in the PIAA AAA Tournament. He was 126-37 at Central York High School.

In addition, Cook was 125-8 and placed fourth for West Scranton High School at 121 lbs. at the AAA Tournament, Pisano (108-27 career record) was a three-time AAA state qualifier from Hopewell High School who finished sixth at 160 lbs., and Hoover (126-23) qualified for the PAAA AA State Tournament three times and finished seventh in 2023-24 at 152 lbs.

Barlow, a two-time PIAA AAA State qualifier at 160 lbs., was 112-36 at Kennett High School, while Halford was a 2024 AA State Qualifier at 160 lbs. from North Schuylkill High SchoolÂ

Pitt-Johnstown is coming off of a 15-2 dual meet season, including a 7-0 mark in the PSAC. The Mountain Cats claimed their eighth straight PSAC Dual Meet Champion and finished second at the NCAA Super Region I Tournament.

Five Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers won NCAA Regional championships, and six Mountain Cats earned spots in the 2024 NCAA National Tournament in Wichita, Kan where
Jacob Ealy (149 lbs.) became the program's 15
th individual National Champion, and
Trevon Gray (125 lbs.),
Dakoda Rodgers (197 lbs.), and
Isaiah Vance (285 lbs.) all earned All-America honors. As a team, Pitt-Johnstown earned a sixth-place national finish.

Pitt-Johnstown will open the 2024-25 season with a dual meet in the Sports Center against West Liberty (WV) University on November 7, before traveling to the 2024 Journeymen Classic. on November 10.
