The Pitt-Johnstown men's golf team enjoyed a fourth place finish at the Malone (OH) Glenmoor Fall Classic on Monday and Tuesday to kick off the fall season.
The Mountain Cats finished with a team score of 900 (+36) over three rounds, one stroke better than fifth-place finisher Ohio Dominican.
Senior Mario Battaglia led the way for Pitt-Johnstown after turning in a 219 (+3) to capture third place in the field of 76 players.
Freshman Lucas Smith recorded a 222 (+6) to tie two other players and grab ninth place in his first collegiate event. Eli Ropietski shot a 224 (+8) to tie one other player for 14th place. Tyler Mocello carded a 237 (+21) to tie two competitors for 35th place. Sal Cerilli rounded out the Mountain Cats' lineup with a 243 (+27) to end up tied for 49th.
Pitt-Johnstown will have two weeks off before competing in the West Liberty/California (PA) Hannastown Invitational on Sept. 23 and 24.
