A pair of top-six finishers in the men's long jump headlined Pitt-Johnstown's participation in the Youngstown State Invitational on Thursday and Friday.
Junior Cyrus Lyghts leaped 6.47 meters to take fifth in the event, while sophomore Ryan Porch finished right behind in sixth with 6.46 meters.
Isaiah Dyer took home fifth place in the triple jump after leaping 12.73 meters. Noah Ser tied for eighth place in the high jump with a jump of 1.81 meters. Sophomore Bridger Blankenbicker rounded out the field events with a 10th place mark (3.95 meters) in the pole vault.
Senior Michael Ifidon paced the track events after finishing seventh out of 59 qualifiers in the 200-meter run with a time of 22.33 seconds. Meanwhile, freshman Nicholas Legnine claimed 12th place with a time of 22.75 seconds.
Sophomore Nathan Mienke captured eighth place (16:47.56) out of 12 competitors in the men's 5000-meter run. Freshman Ryan Hayes finished 10th (17:27.21) in the same event.
A 9th place finish from the 4x400 relay team of Charlie Levander, Aidan Bertrand, Kenneth Robison and Damian Blum rounded out the track events.
Meanwhile, for the women's team, Natalie Lippincott tied for seventh place in the high jump with a performance of 1.58 meters. Sophomore Ellie Zuro was not far behind in ninth place after jumping 1.53 meters. Zuro also claimed 16th (8.11 meters) in the shot put event, while fellow sophomore Izzy Portello was right behind in 17th place (8.03 meters).
Mayah Charity highlighted the track events after blazing to a 10th place mark out of 47 competitors in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.53 seconds.
Both Pitt-Johnstown teams will return to Ohio for the Muskingum Muskie Meet set for next Saturday, Jan. 25.
