The Pitt-Johnstown baseball team returns home to host a PSAC Western Division doubleheader against Gannon, Saturday afternoon at Point Stadium. Game one is scheduled for 1 p.m. with game two to follow 30 minutes after the finish of the opener.
Prior to Friday's doubleheader at Gannon, Pitt-Johnstown, under first-year
Head Coach George Roberts, was 9-21 overall and 1-11 in the PSAC West. After dropping three-of-four conference games to nationally ranked Seton Hill last weekend, the Mountain Cats earned a 6-5 non-conference win at Shippensburg on Wednesday.
Calvin Iseminger and
Noah Donis each had two hits and an RBI for Pitt-Johnstown.
Head Coach DJ Cannon (4
th year) and the Gannon Golden Knights were 12-18 overall and 5-7 in conference-play after Wednesday's 7-3 and 4-0 non-conference losses at Ashland. The Golden Knights also split four PSAC West games with Slippery Rock last weekend.
Last season, the Mountain Cats took three-of-four from the Golden Knights. Gannon won the opener, 9-7, in 11 innings on March 29 at Point Stadium, but Pitt-Johnstown responded with a 3-2 win in nine innings in game two, before sweeping the Golden Knights, 8-2 and 10-4 in Erie on April 1.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a non-conference game against Shippensburg on Tuesday, then begin a four-game home-and-home PSAC West series against Lock Haven on Friday at Point Stadium.
