The Pitt-Johnstown baseball team will begin a four-game, home-and-home PSAC Western Division series against Lock Haven Friday afternoon at Point Stadium. Game one is scheduled for 1 p.m. with game two to follow.
Head Coach George Roberts and the Mountain Cats are 11-23 overall and 3-13 in the PSAC West after splitting four games with Gannon last weekend. The Mountain Cats won the opener in Erie last Friday, 6-1, behind
Zac LeGar's two-run homer, before suffering a 4-3 loss in game two. On Saturday,
Calvin Iseminger drove in three and
Crusen Stover and
Brody Roberts each had two RBI in a 7-4 win at Point Stadium. Gannon took the nightcap, 12-1.
Eighth-year
Head Coach Heath "Smoke" Stover's Lock Haven squad is 12-23 overall and 2-13 in the PSAC West. Last weekend, Slippery Rock swept four conference games from the Bald Eagles. On Friday, The Rock earned 8-4 and 8-2 wins in Lock Haven, before completing the sweep with 4-3 and 8-6 wins in Slippery Rock on Saturday.
Since the 2005 season, the Mountain Cats hold an 8-3 lead in the series including sweeping a pair of non-conference games last season. On March 26 at Point Stadium, Pitt-Johnstown earned a 9-0 win, before dealing the Bald Eagles a 10-5 loss in Lock Haven on April 16.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a non-conference game against Mansfield on Tuesday at Point Stadium, before starting a home-and-home PSAC Western series at Indiana (PA) next Friday.
