George Roberts and the Pitt-Johnstown baseball team will host a pair of games against California (PA) in the 2026 PSAC Western Division home-opener, Saturday afternoon at Point Stadium. Game times are scheduled for 1 and 3:30 p.m.
The Mountain Cats 9-10 on the season after taking two-of-three from Georgian Court (NJ) in the home-opener on March 6 and 7. Last weekend, No. 24/30 Millersville swept a four-game series from Pitt-Johnstown.
First-year Head Coach Joey Noro's Cal U Vulcans, ranked eighth in this week's NCBWA Atlantic Region Poll, are 9-5. Cal U posted a 5-2 record on its spring trip to Florida last week, including wins over Malone (OH), Minesota-Duluth, and Northern State (SD).
Last season, the Mountain Cats and Vulcans split a four-game PSAC West series to close out the regular season. On May 1 in Johnstown, Pitt-Johnstown took game one, 7-6, and Cal U answered with a 2-1 victory in the nightcap. The following day in Washington, Pa., the Mountain Cats won the opener, 8-5, but suffered a 5-0 setback in the series finale.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a non-conference game against Bloomsburg on Tuesday at 3 p.m., before opening a four-game, home-and-home PSAC West series against Slippery Rock on March 27 at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium.
