Mountain Cats to Host Pair of PSAC West Games Against Gannon on Friday

Johnstown, PA

4/16/2026 8:57:00 AM

The Pitt-Johnstown baseball team will host a pair of PSAC West games against Gannon, Friday afternoon at Point Stadium.  Game times are scheduled for 1 and 3:30 p.m.

Head Coach George Roberts' Mountain Cats, 13-24 overall and 4-12 in conference-play, look to bounce back from dropping a four-game series to 16th-ranked Seton Hill last weekend.  The Griffins earned 14-2 and 6-1 wins in Johnstown last Friday, then completed the sweep with 7-0 and 7-0 wins in Greensburg on Saturday.

Gannon, 16-17 overall and 10-6 in the PSAC West, has won three straight games and nine of its last 10 games under fifth-year Head Coach DJ Cannon.  After dropping last weekend's series opener to Slippery Rock, Gannon responded 1-0, 8-6, and 5-4 wins over the Rock.

Pitt-Johnstown and Gannon split four PSAC West games last year.  On April 11 in Erie, Zac LeGars homered, and Aiden Coleman and Seth Shuey combined to hold the Golden Knights to one run in a 6-1 win to begin the series.  Gannon answered with 4-3 victory in the nightcap.  The next day in Johnstown, Crusen Stover had two hits and drove in two in a 7-4 Pitt-Johnstown win, before the Golden Knights downed the Mountain Cats 12-1 in the finale.

Pitt-Johnstown will host a non-conference game against Shippensburg on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Point Stadium, then begin a four-game PSAC series with Lock Haven on Friday.
