The Pitt-Johnstown baseball team will conclude a four-game, home-and-home PSAC Western Division series against Clarion, Saturday afternoon at Point Stadium. Game times a scheduled for 1 and 3:30 p.m.
Head Coach George Roberts and the Mountain Cats were 11-18 overall and 2-6 in conference-play prior to Friday's scheduled games at Clarion. On Tuesday,
Lucas Muffie and
Tyler Danko each had two hits, and
Alex Ebeling drove in two and scored a pair of runs in a 17-7 non-conference setback to Frostburg State (MD) on Tuesday.
Clarion, under third-year
Head Coach Johnny Poss, was 11-12 overall and 4-3 in the PSAC West ahead of Friday's games against the Mountain Cats. The Golden Eagles dealt Penn State Dubois a 12-4 non-conference setback on Tuesday.
Randy Carlo went 4-for-5 with a homer and seven RBI, and
Derek Smail added two hits and three RBI for Clarion.
Since the 2005 season, Pitt-Johnstown holds a 35-26 advantage in the series, but the Golden Eagles have won the last nine meetings, including sweeping the four-game PSAC series a year ago.
The Mountain Cats will host a non-conference game against Shippensburg on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Point Stadium, before beginning a four-game PSAC West series against nationally-ranked Seton Hill with a home doubleheader on April 10.
