Baseball Suffers 9-1 Loss at Alderson-Broaddus

Andy Rubal (Johnstown, Pa.) and Zach Martin (Irwin, Pa.) each had two hits, but Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College used a five-run sixth inning to break open 4-1 lead en route to defeating the Mountain Cats 9-1 Friday afternoon in Philippi, WV.  Game two of Friday's scheduled doubleheader was cancelled due to rain.  Pitt-Johnstown is 23-14 overall. 
     Martin went 2-for-4 and drove in the Mountain Cats' lone run, while Rubal had two hits, including a double, in three at-bats. 
     Drew Shaulis (Somerset, Pa.) suffered the loss after surrendering three runs on eight hits in three innings.  Shaulis, 5-1 on the year, also walked one and struck out one. 
     With the win, Alderson-Broaddus improved to 22-11. 
     The Mountain Cats  will  play a doubleheader against Bluefield State (WV) College on Saturday in Philippi, WV.
