Concord Downs Moutain Cats, 8-3, in Series Opener

Concord (WV) University erased and early one-run deficit with two runs in the third inning and thrre more in the fourth en route to dealing the Mountain Cats an 8-3 loss in Saturday's three-game series opener in Athens, W.Va.  Jake Warner had three hits for Pitt-Johnstown, which dropped to 0-4 to start the year.

Kyle Morrow and Jake Stern each drove in first inning runs to put the Mountain Cats in front, but Concord outscored Pitt-Johnstown 8-1 the rest of the way.

Along with Warner's three hits, Matt McGhee and Morrow had two hits and an RBI apiece, while Nate Negri collected a pair of hits for Pitt-Johnstown.

John Fees took the loss and dropped to 0-2 after allowing six runs (3 earned) on 10 hits over the first five innings.  Ryan Bills tossed the last three innings and surrendered two runs on four hits.

With the Win, Concord evened its record at 2-2.
