Baseball Splits Doubleheader With East Stroudsburg

After suffering a 3-1 loss in the opener, Derek Younker pitched six shutout innings to lead the Mountain Cats to a 2-0 win over defending PSAC champion East Stroudsburg University, Saturday afternoon in Aberdeen, MD.  Pitt-Johnstown is now 2-6.

In game one, Matt McMillen collected one of the Mountain Cats' four hits and drove in the lone run in a 3-1 loss.  Nate Negri, Dillon Boyer, and Ernesto Rizzitano had Pitt-Johnstown's other hits.

John Fees took the loss and dropped to 0-3 after allowing three runs (2 earned) on three hits over the first four innings.

In game two, Younker tossed six scoreless innings and surrendered just four hits.  Nate Pope gave up a hit and no runs in the seventh inning to get his first save of the season.

Jake Stern went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple, while Jake Warner added two hits for the Mountain Cats.

With the split, East Stroudsburg is now 8-1.
