Baseball Downs Mercy, 14-6, in Florida

Kyle Morrow had four hits, and Jake Warner added three hits and three RBI to lead the Mountain Cats to a 14-6 victory over Mercy (NY) College, Thursday mroning in Fort Pierce, Fla.  Pitt-Johnstown improved to 4-9 on the season.

Morrow went 4-for-6 with a double, while Warner was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and three RBI.  Dillon Boyer and Nate Negri each collected two hits and drove in two, and Matt McGhee had two hits and an RBI in the win.

Tyler Black earned his first collegiate victory after allowing just one run on two hits in 1.2 innings in relief of starter Rylan Schnably.  Black also walked two and fanned three.  Schnably tossed the first 4.1 innings and surrendered five runs on six hits.

The Mountain Cats wrap-up their Spring trip in Florida against Southern Connecticut State University on Friday, before traveling to Shepherd (WV) University for a non-conference game on Wednesday.
