Pitt-Johnstown battled back from a 10-point halftime deficit, and
Jasmine Harper connected on a free-throw with 15 seconds left to break a tie and lift the Lady Cats to a 74-72 PSAC Crossover victory over Millersville, Wednesday night in the Sports Center.Â
Kelsey Sleighter's game-high 24 points led Pitt-Johnstown, now 9-5 overall and 6-4 in the PSAC West.

Pitt-Johnstown erased the 10-point deficit and built an 11-point second half lead of its own. The Marauders clawed back and knotted it at 72 with 22 seconds remaining on Courtney Hinnant's lay-up. Following a Pitt-Johnstown timeout, Harper was fouled and made the first. Her second attempt was long, but she grabbed her own rebound and kicked it out to
Olivia McCabe, who was fouled with 1.7 seconds on the clock. McCabe also made one of two and the Lady Cats went on to the two-point win.

McCabe's short jumper gave the Lady Cats a 15-11 lead early on, but Millersville went on to outscore Pitt-Johnstown 25-7 over the next 10 minutes to build a 14-point lead of their own.

Carley Gallagher knocked down a 3-pointer at the five-minute mark to push the Marauders' lead into double digits, before Gallagher's convention 3-point play with 3:42 remaining in the half made it 36-22.

Pitt-Johnstown cut it to six another bucket from McCabe with just over a minute to go, but Gallagher come right back with 3-pointer, and Tyisha White connected on a free-throw with 19 seconds left to give Millersville a 44-34 halftime advantage.

After Shelby Reimer's 3-pointer early in the second half that rebuilt the lead to 11, Â the Lady Cats stormed back with 30-8 run of its own to go in front by 11.

Sleighter's 3-pointer got the Lady Cats to within three, and a pair of
Nicole Carman free-throws at 12:44 gave Pitt-Johnstown its first lead since the 11:38 point of the first half.

The Lady Cats weren't done yet. Sleighter's bucket four minutes later extended it to nine, and two free-throws from Carman made it 66-55 with 8:01 to play.

Millersville began its comeback and eventually tied it at 72, setting up the exciting ending.

Sleighter finished with a game-high 24 points, and McCabe added career-highs of 17 points and nine rebounds to lead the Lady Cats. Carman had nine points and eight rebounds, while Harper tallied seven points and six rebounds.Â
Kayla DeCriscio also had seven points for Pitt-Johnstown.

Carman is currently 26
th on the Lady Cat All-Time Scoring List with 1,075 points and 18
th on the Pitt-Johnstown All-Time Rebounding List with 603.Â
Harper ranks 27
th on the all-time rebounding list with 490 rebounds, while
Sleighter is 44 points shy of becoming Pitt-Johnstown's 35
th 1,000-point scorer.

Pitt-Johnstown overcame 20 turnovers and 39.6% (21-53) shooting for the game. The Lady Cats were 6-17 from behind the 3-point line, but made 26 of their 32 free-throws. Millersville shot 40.3% (27-67) from the floor and 9-24 from 3-point range. However, the Marauders were just 9-16 from the charity stripe.

Reimer's 19 points and Gallagher's 13 points led the way for Millersville, which had it four-game winning streak snapped. The Marauders slipped to 10-5 overall and 7-2 in the PSAC East.

The Lady Cats will host a PSAC doubleheader with the Mountain Cats against Gannon on January 14 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to a conference game at Mercyhurst on January 17.Â
