Kelsey Sleighter scored a game-high 22 points and made six 3-pointers to break the Lady Cat career record, but Pitt-Johnstown was not able to overcome a 23-point first half deficit and suffered an 83-77 PSAC loss at Seton Hill, Saturday afternoon. The Lady Cats fell to 9-12 overall and 6-11 in conference-play.

Sleighter, who needed three 3-pointers to tie Amy Kessler's (1988-92) previous record of 191, made six to break it. Sleighter now has 194 career 3-pointers.

Olivia Rizzo's lay-up and free-throw just over three minutes into the game gave Pitt-Johnstown a four-point lead, but Seton Hill went in front 19-13 on a Halie Torris 3-pointer four minutes later.

After a
Jasmine Harper bucket got the Lady Cats back to within one at 19-18, the Griffins exploded for a 22-0 run to build a 23-point advantage.

Seton Hill quickly regained the lead and extended it into double digits on Alexandra Hay's conventional 3-point play at the midway point of the half. The Griffins continued the run and closed it with two straight baskets from Kelly Brennan to give Seton Hill a 41-18 advantage at 6:16.

The Lady Cats came back to outscore the Griffins 12-4 the rest of the way to narrow the gap to 45-30 at the half on two
Kayla DeCriscio free-throws.

Pitt-Johnstown continued to battle to start the second half. The Lady Cats got consecutive 3-pointers from DeCriscio and Sleighter to open the half, before another 3-pointer from Sleighter at the 11:52 mark got Pitt-Johnstown to within seven at 54-47.

However, Seton Hill went on to double-up the Lady Cats 14-7 over the next six minutes to rebuild its lead to 68-54.

Alexendria Deep's free-throw with a minute remaining pushed it out to 80-62. Pitt-Johnstown was able to close the gap to six with a 15-3 spurt, but that was as close as it would get.

Sleighter's 22 points and six rebounds led three Lady Cats who scored in double figures. Harper finished with a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Rizzo had 10 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Pitt-Johnstown also got nine points and 10 rebounds from
Olivia McCabe, eight points and three assists from DeCriscio, and five points and eight rebounds from
Nicole Carman in the loss.

Pitt-Johnstown shot just 31.1% (23-74) from the field. The Lady Cats did connect on 10-32 from 3-point range, and 21-29 from the free-throw line. Seton Hill finished the day shooting 42.5% (31-73) from the floor, 6-24 from behind the 3-point line, and 15-20 from the charity stripe.

Kelley Brennan scored 13 points, and Jharrin Gill added a dozen points to pace four Griffins who scored in double figures. With the win, Seton Hill improved to 10-13 overall and 7-11 in the PSAC.
