2653Luke Williams' walk-off RBI single lifted Pitt-Johnstown to an 8-7 win over Gannon in Friday's 2015 PSAC opener at Point Stadium.  The Mountain Cats completed the sweep with a 10-8 victory in the nightcap aided by three hits from Nate Negri and a fifth inning solo homerun off the bat of Sean Sleigh. The Mountain Cats improved to 2-14 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC Western Division.

In game one, Williams RBI single capped a two-run seventh inning rally and gave the Mountain Cats the 8-7 walk-off victory.

Gannon opened-up a 3-0 on Eric Lewandowski two-out, three-run triple to right field, but Negri's ground out plated Ernesto Rizzitano in the bottom of the frame to cut it to 3-1.

Negri's single up the middle chased home Mike Palkovitz from second in the third inning to get Pitt-Johnstown to within one.

Gannon increased it to 5-2 on back-to-back RBI singles from Jared Wiesen and Charles Benack in the top of the fifth.

Pitt-Johnstown answered with four runs in its next at-bat.  Negri's double to the gap in left center scored Lino Bravo and Palkovitz.  Jake Stern then singled and scored on Williams double to left center, and Sleigh singled-home Williams to put the Mountain Cats in front, 6-5.

Gannon came back with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to regain the lead, but Pitt-Johnstown rallied for the win.  Palkovitz reached on an error and Negri was hit by a pitch.  Stern then got down a sacrifice bunt to move both runners up to second and third.  Pinch runner Jeff Livengood scored from third on a wild pitch to tie it at seven, and Williams bounced a single up the middle to score Negri with the game-winner.

Negri went 2-for-4 with four RBI, and Williams had two hits and drove in a pair for Pitt-Johnstown.  Palkovitz finished with three of the Mountain Cats' 11 hits, while Sleigh also had two hits and an RBI.

Shane Supanick picked-up his first college victory in relief.  Nate Pope got the start and surrendered five runs on five hits over the first five innings.  Pope also fanned five.  Andrew Keirn tossed an inning and gave up a pair of runs on one hit.

Lewandowski drove in three, and Benack had two hits and two RBI for the Golden Knights.  Aaron Cox pitched a complete-game and suffered the loss to fall to 2-1.  Cox allowed all eight runs, but just two ere earned.

In the nightcap, Pitt-Johnstown sent nine men to the plate in the bottom of the first inning and strung seven straight hits together to jump out to a 5-0 lead.

Sleigh drove in two with a double, and Dillon Boyer had an RBI double in the Mountain Cat first.  Mason Prickett added an RBI single to help Pitt-Johnstown build the five-run advantage.

Gannon came back with a run in the third, before Negri's single through the left side scored Ernesto Rizzitano from second to make it 6-1.

The Golden Knights battled back with five runs in the top of the fifth to tie it at six.  However, Sleigh belted a solo homer over the left-center field wall to lead off the bottom of the inning to put Pitt-Johnstown back on top.

Pitt-Johnstown tacked on three more in the sixth, then held off the Golden Knights for the 10-8 win.

Negri went 3-for-3 with two more RBI and two runs, while Sleigh was 3-for-4 with a solo homer and four RBI.  The Mountain Cats also got two hits and an RBI apiece from Williams and Boyer, and two hits from Palkovitz.

Ryan Socol picked-up the win in relief of starter Brantley Rice to improve to 1-3.  Socol surrendered two runs on three hits and struck out four over the final 2.2 innings.  Rice pitched the first 4.1 innings and allowed six runs on 12 hits in the no-decision.

Wiesen drove in three and Benack collected three hits for the Golden Knights.  David Cricks took the loss in a complete-game effort.  Cricks was touched-up for 10 runs on 15 Pitt-Johnstown hits.

The Mountain Cats travel to Erie to close out the four-game conference series against the Golden Knights on Monday, before traveling to Seton Hill for a conference doubleheader on Friday.
