Victoria Moreland scored a career-high 22 points, and
Laurel O'Barto added a career-high 16 points and 10 assists to lead the Lady Cats to a 79-68 non-conference victory at Lincoln University on Monday. Pitt-Johnstown improved to 4-1.

After Lincoln erased a 14-point second quarter deficit and took a four-point fourth quarter lead, Pitt-Johnstown went on to outscore the Lions 22-7 over the final six minutes to secure the win.

A 3-pointer by Moreland and a basket in the paint by
Olivia McCabe gave Pitt-Johnstown a 10-2 lead to start, but Lincoln hit seven free-throws in a 12-4 run that eventually tied it. Teira Pendleton made a pair of free-throws and Loreal Bledsoe knocked down a jumper to get the Lions to within one, before Jaeda Davis's jumper knotted it at 14 with 2:31 left in the first quarter.

The Lady Cats answered with nine unanswered points to close out the quarter. Moreland's 3-pointer put Pitt-Johnstown back up by seven, before
Nicole Corcoran's lay-up at the buzzer made it 23-14.

Five more points from Moreland to open the second quarter pushed the Lady Cat lead into double figures and extended the run 14-2, before O'Barto's basket at 5:18 gave Pitt-Johnstown its largest lead of the half at 32-18.

Lincoln narrowed to eight at the 2:48 mark, but O'Barto's 3-pointer extended it back out to 13 and helped the Lady Cats take a 39-29 lead into the halftime break.

The Lions used an 11-4 spurt to begin the third quarter that cut it to 43-40 on Ashley Paynes-Hightower's bucket at 5:55.

Pitt-Johnstown rebuilt the lead to nine on
Jamie Tabon's lay-up and free-throw and held a 52-45 lead entering the fourth quarter.

The Lions continued to hang around and got it down to one on a Paynes-Hightower, before taking their first lead of the night on Kholby Oliver's 3-pointer at the six minute mark.

Another 3-pointer from Oliver increased it to 61-57 a minute later, but a 3-pointer from Moreland and a bucket from Tabon quickly gave the lead back to Pitt-Johnstown and the Lady Cats never gave it up again.

Along with Moreland and O'Barto's efforts, Pitt-Johnstown also got a double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds from Tabon and 14 points and four rebounds from McCabe.Â
Nicole Olkosky added eight points and five rebounds off the bench for Pitt-Johnstown.

The Lady Cats ended the night shooting 41.9% (26-62) from the floor, and held the Lions to just 30.3% (20-66) shooting. Each team connected on five 3-pointers. Pitt-Johnstown was 22-32 from the free-throw line, and Lincoln was 23-30 from the charity stripe.

Oliver had 15 points to lead Lincoln, which fell to 1-5. Paynes-Hightower tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds, and She'quan Bailey chipped in 13 points.

Pitt-Johnstown will make their 2016-17 home debut with conference doubleheaders with the Mountain Cats against Kutztown on Saturday and Mansfield on Sunday in the Sports Center. The Lady Cats will tip-off both doubleheaders at 1 p.m., with the men's games to follow at 3 p.m.Â
