Lock Haven University turned an 11-point deficit late in the third quarter into a 59-49 victory with a 25-4 run over the final 11 minutes to defeat the Lady Cats Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center.Â
Olivia McCabe had 12 points and 13 rebounds for Pitt-Johnstown, which shot just 23% and slipped to 6-4 overall and 2-3 in the PSAC Western Division.

Madison Kollar's basket with 1:02 left in the third quarter gave the Lady Cats a 45-34 lead, but Lock Haven was able to narrow the gap to eight entering the fourth quarter. The Bald Eagles took their first lead of the day on a pair of Ayanda McGill-Jefferson free-throws at the 6:28 mark of the fourth quarter and never gave it up. Lock haven went on to make 6-of-8 free-throws down the stretch to seal the 10-point victory.

McCabe's lay-up six minutes into the game put the Lady Cats up six and two free-throws from
Laurel O'Barto gave Pitt-Johnstown a 33-26 halftime advantage.

The Lady Cats extended it to nine on
Nicole Olkosky's bucket before pushing it out to 45-34 on Kollar's lay-up with 1:02 left in the third quarter.

McCabe's 12 points and 13 rebounds led the way for Pitt-Johnstown. O'Barto finished with nine points, and
Gabrielle Smith had eight points off the bench. The Lady Cats also got six points and nine rebounds from
Jamie Tabon, and five points apiece from
Victoria Moreland and Kollar.

Pitt-Johnstown was held to just 22.6% (14-62) shooting from the field, including just 1-18 from 3-point range. The Lady Cats were also 20-29 from the free-throw line. Lock Haven shot 32.8% (19-58) from the floor, 0-3 from behind the 3-point line, and 21-31 from the charity stripe.

McGill-Jefferson had a game-high 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Madison McHale had 16 points for the Bald Eagles, who improved to 4-4 and 2-3 in the PSAC East. Lysa Mealing also had 11 points and a game-high 20 rebounds for Lock Haven.

Pitt-Johnstown hosts a non-conference game against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Sports Center, before breaking for the holidays. The Lady Cats will then host a PSAC doubleheader with the Mountain Cats against Clarion on December 30 starting at 1 p.m.
