Shicole Watts scored a game-high 23 points and Ohio Valley (WV) University used a 24-8 run to deal the Lady Cats a 77-60 non-conference loss, Thursday evening in Vienna, W.Va.Â
Jamie Tabon's 16 points led Pitt-Johnstown, which slipped to 6-3 on the season.

Madison Kollar and Tabon each scored six points, and
Victoria Moreland hit a 3-pointer with 2:13 left in the first quarter to give Pitt-Johnstown a 21-15 lead. Ohio Valley responded to outscore the Lady Cats 11-1 the rest of the way to regain the lead by four. Haley Ackerman's 3-pointer tied it at 21, and Yazmin Lopez knocked down a jumper with 27 seconds left to put the Fighting Scots up 26-22.

Ohio Valley opened the second quarter with a bucket from Jalyn Gilbert increase the lead to six, before Pitt-Johnstown used three straight 3-pointers from
Laurel O'Barto, Kollar, and Moreland in a 15-2 run to retake the lead, 37-30, at the 4:07 mark. The Fighting Scots recovered and narrowed the gap to 39-36 at the half on baskets from Watts and Imani McDowell that started a 24-4 run.

Four more points from Watts early in the third quarter gave the lead back to Ohio Valley, and Ackerman's 3-pointer extended it to six midway through the quarter. The Fighting Scots continued their run with baskets from Ackerman and McDowell to take a 56-47 advantage into the fourth quarter.

After Ohio Valley quickly pushed its lead out to 11, Pitt-Johnstown scored the next eight, including back-to-back baskets from Tabon to cut it to 58-55 with 6:37 to play. The lady Cats would get. However, that was as close as the Lady Cats would get. Ackerman's 3-pointer at 2:52 got Ohio Valley's lead out to a dozen and the Fighting Scots went on to the 17-point victory.

Tabon finished with 16 points and five rebounds, and
Olivia McCabe added 12 points and seven rebounds to lead Pitt-Johnstown. Moreland had nine points and a game-high nine rebounds, while Kollar had nine points and
Maurina Nunn had six points. The Lady Cats also got five points and five assists from OBarto, who currently leads the nation in assists per game at just over eight.

Pitt-Johnstown shot just 39.7% (25-63) for the game, including just 6-21 from 3-point range and 4-11 from the free-throw line. Ohio Valley ended the night shooting 49.1% (28-57) from the floor, 3-7 from behind the 3-point line, and 18-27 from the charity stripe.

Watts led all scorers with 23 points and eight rebounds, while Ackerman had 15 points, and McDowell tallied 12 points for the Fighting Scots, who evened their record at 4-4.

Pitt-Johnstown hosts a PSAC doubleheader with the Mountain Cats against Lock Haven on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center, before hosting a non-conference game against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
