Division I Drexel University started fast with a pair of technical fall wins on its way to winning eight bouts in a 29-8 victory over the Division II sixth-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers to wrap-up the Drexel Dragon Duals, Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia.  The Mountain Cats are now 1-1.
The Dragons opened with technical falls from Tanner Shoap at 4:04 and Austin DeSanto in just :58 to jump out to a 10-0 lead, before picking up decision wins at 141 lbs. and 149 lbs..
 
Evan Barcszak's 3-1 win over No. 2 Cody Law at 157 lbs. pushed it out to 19-0 and a 10-3 decision by Ebed Jarrell at 165 lbs. made it 22-0.
 
Pitt-Johnstown, which had a team point deducted for a coach's warning in the 157-lb. bout, got on the scoreboard at 174 lbs. when second-ranked Tyler Reinhart held off Austin rose, 5-4, to cut it to 22-2.
 
Drexel added a major decision at 184 lbs. and a decision at 197 lbs., before Allan Beattie pinned Vincenzo Pelusi at 1:47 of the first period to help the Mountain Cats narrow the final score to 29-8.
 
With the win, Drexel improved to 2-0.
 
The Mountain Cats will make their 2017-18 home-debut against West Liberty (WV) University on Thursday, before hosting Kutztown University to open the PSAC portion of the schedule on November 17. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
