Jamie Tabon, this year's lone senior, scored a game-high 30 points, but it was
Victoria Moreland's jumper with 3 seconds to play that broke a 74-74 tie and lifted the Lady Cats to a 76-74 Senior Day PSAC victory over Slippery Rock, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown snapped a nine-game losing streak and closed out the 2016-17 season at 8-20 overall and 4-18 in conference-play.

Prior to the game, Pitt-Johnstown recognized Tabon, then she went out and scored 18 her 30 points in the first half grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Lady Cats.

Pitt-Johnstown jumped out to a 24-13 lead after one quarter. Tabon's 3-pointer put the Lady Cats up 17-8, and
Alexis Hartwick followed with a 3-pointer with just under a minute left to make it 22-10.

Slippery Rock battled back to cut it to two five minutes into the second quarter on a 3-pointer from C.C. Dixon, but Pitt-Johnstown closed out the half on a 10-1 run to extend it back out to 11 at 41-30, highlighted by nine ore points from Tabon.

Olivia McCabe's bucket at 7:16 of the third quarter kept the Lady Cats' lead in double figures, before The Rock came back again. This time, Slippery Rock got it down to one at 57-56 on a Mallory Heinle lay-up going into the final quarter.

Morgan Henderson's basket 1:30 into the fourth quarter gave The Rock a three-point advantage and it see-sawed back-and-forth the rest of the way. Pitt-Johnstown trailed by two with 1:05 left, but McCabe hit a pair of free-throws to tie it, and Moreland's jumper from the elbow with three seconds on the clock proved to be the game-winner for Pitt-Johnstown.

Tabon led all scorers with 30 points on 11-22 shooting, including 5-8 from 3-point range. She also grabbed 11 rebounds, while McCabe added 18 points and 11 rebounds. Pitt-Johnstown also got 11 points from Moreland, seven points from
Nicole Olkosky, and a game-high 10 assists from
Laurel O'Barto.

With her 11 rebounds, McCabe moved into a tie for 23
rd-place with Amy Kessler (1988-92) on the Lady Cat All-Time Rebounding List with 548. McCabe will also enter her senior season with 797 career points.

The Lady Cats shot 42.0% (26-69) from the field, 9-22 from 3-point range, and 9-16 from the free-throw line. Slippery Rock ended the day shooting 41.4% (24-58) from the floor, 4-16 from behind the 3-point line, and 22-29 from the charity stripe.

Morgan Henderson had 19 points and nine rebounds, and Brooke Hinderliter collected 17 points to lead four Slippery Rock players who scored in double figures.

With the loss, The Rock's season came to an end with a 9-19 overall record and a 6-16 mark in the PSAC Western Division.
