In their final meet before the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Cross Country Championships, the Pitt-Johnstown Men's and Women's Cross Country teams traveled to Lock Haven, PA for the Go Fast River Run. In their final tune-up, both teams competed against conference opponents including East Stroudsburg, Lock Haven, Seton Hill, and Shippensburg, as well as other NCAA Division II schools.
Five women, led by
Paige Greathouse, raced to a 13th place team finish in a field of 16 teams and outlasted PSAC foe East Stroudsburg. Greathouse's PR of 23:39.80 placed her 43rd out of 145 athletes. The sophomore was supported by
Jenna Smith, Alex Walton,
Bethany Bednez, and
Ava Barker, who finished in 71st, 76th, 86th, and 93rd places respectively. Alex Walton also had a PR day with her time of 26:05.80 over the 6km course.
On the men's side, a 39th place finish by
Luke Cimakasky led the team to a 12th place finish and victory over PSAC competitors of Seton Hill.
Tristan Landsberg,
Helaman Forsyth,
Noah Lee, and
Ben Brassart rounded out the top five for the men finishing in 58th, 65th, 69th, and 75th places respectively amongst a field of 170 athletes. Forsyth managed a career-best 28:27.60 over the 8km distance.
On November 5, 2022 the men and women will travel to Mansfield University to compete in the PSAC Cross Country Championships.
