Pitt-Johnstown's Emily Esser, Alexis Johnson, and Sachi Negri all on spots on the Division II 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team when this year's recipients were released on Tuesday.
 
The 2022 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.
 
Esser, a senior midfielder from Camp Hill, Pa., has a 3.56 overall GPA in Engineering.  She led Pitt-Johnstown in points (12) and assists (4) and was tied for the team-lead in goals with four in 2022, while Johnson, a senior defender from Harrisburg, Pa., started 14 matches and finished with a pair of assists.  Johnson has a 3.65 overall GPA in Business.
 
Negri, the Mountain Cats' starting goalkeeper, started 18 matches as a senior in 2022 and has a 4.0 cumulative GPA in Engineering.  Negri, a native of Green Brook, NJ, was 4-10-4 with a .791 (117) saves.  Negri also recorded four shutouts.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
