Isaiah Vance posted a perfect 6-0 record to win the championship at 285 lbs., and
Jacob Ealy finished second at 149 lbs. to lead of group of four Pitt-Johnstown place-winners at Saturday and Sunday's Midwest Wrestling Classic in Indianapolis. In addition,
Dakoda Rodgers placed third at 197 lbs., and
Trevon Gray finished eighth at 125 lbs. to help the Mountain Cats finish in a tie for sixth in the 48-team field.
Lander claimed the team championship with 126 points, 14 points better than second-place Wisconsin-Parkside. Central Oklahoma (109.0 points), Upper Iowa (108.5 points), and Mary (98.5 points) rounded out the Top-5, while Pitt-Johnstown and Indianapolis tied for sixth with 95 team points.
Vance, the No. 3 seed at 285 lbs., began the tournament by pinning Coker's Hamilton Cooper at 5:16, before winning his next two bouts by decision over Dillon Norris (Lake Erie) and No. 14-seeded Ryan Herman (Maryville). Vance then pinned No. 6 -seeded Daulton Mayer (Thomas More) in the quarterfinals and won a 5-0 shutout decision over seventh-seeded Luke Tweeten (Mary) to reach the title bout at 285. Vance built an early lead over fourth-seeded Mason Watt (Chadron State) and used over four minutes of riding time to claim his championship with an 8-1 decision victory.
Ealy, seeded fourth at 149 lbs., cruised into the semifinals with technical fall wins Nolan Gessler (Tiffin), Dillon Nichols (Drury), and 16
th-seeded Demetri Teddlie (King), and a 9-0 major decision win over 13
th-seeded Jackson Hoover (Indianapolis). A medical forfeit by Grand Valley State's third-seeded Chris Donathan sent Ealy to the finals where he took on the No. 1-seed Wyatt Turnquist (Northern State). Turnquist broke a 7-7 third-period tie and went on to defeat Ealy, 15-7.
At 197 lbs., Rodgers, seeded fourth, secured his spot in the semifinals by winning decisions over Marvelous Rutledge (Notre Dame (OH), Devon Ball (Mount Olive), Mason Kump (Belmont-Abbey), and fifth-seeded Anthony Yacovetti (Lander). Rodgers suffered a narrow, 2-1, loss to No. 1- seeded Derek Blubaugh (Indianapolis), but rebounded with an 11-0 major decision victory over 12
th-seeded Gabe Carranza (Colorado Mesa)
to advance to the third-place match where he dealt second-seeded Matt Kaylor (Mary) a 6-3 loss.
Gray, won his first two bouts by decision and major decision at 125 lbs., but lost a tight, 5-4, decision to Chadron State's ninth-seeded Quade Smith in the third round. A fall in the fourth round of the consolations over East Stroudsburg's Jason Athey and a 3-2 win over Anthony Aniciete (Tiffin) sent Gray into Sunday's action. Gray kept it going with a 7-3 win over New Mexico Highlands' 14
th-ranked Rhys Sellers to guarantee him a spot in the top eight. However, Gray suffered a 15-5 loss to 11
th-seeded Luke Acuna (Ashland) sending him to the seventh-place match where he lost by major decision, 11-2, to No. 8-seeded Jose Diaz (Gannon).

Dillon Keane won his first two bouts by fall, but suffered a 4-2 loss to third-seeded Dillon Walker (Mercyhurst) in the third round. Keane bounced back to defeat Lake Erie's Thomas Potter, 7-0, before being eliminated with an 8-3 loss to 11
th-seeded Jace Fisher (Newman) in the fifth round of the consolations.
