The 13th-ranked wrestlers charged back from a 20-9 deficit with three bouts remaining to knot it on Isaiah Vance's pin at 285 lbs., but Findlay (OH) won six of the 10 bouts and secured a 21-20 victory over the Mountain Cats on Criteria, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center.  Pitt-Johnstown, which had its 53-match home winning streak snapped, is now 5-2.

A 22-8 major decision from No. 13 Graham Shore over Pitt-Johnstown's No. 7 Trevon Gray at 125 lbs., and Gavin Ritter's 7-0 upset over 14th-ranked Byron Daubert at 133 lbs., helped Findlay jump out to a 7-0 advantage.

The Oilers held the momentum and pushed their lead to 11-0 with Ashton Anderson's 14-0 major decision over 20th-ranked Mason Myers.

Pitt-Johnstown answered at 149 lbs. when seventh-ranked Jacob Ealy pinned Mason Kleinberg at 1:27, but Findlay extended it 17-6, when Logan Sanom took down Cooper Warshel in overtime to secure a 5-2 win at 157 lbs., and Gary Nilson held off No. 19 Dillon Keane, 4-0, at 165 lbs.

Kenny Snyder then earned an 18-7 major decision victory over No. 16 Tony Salopek at 174 lbs. that pushed it out to 21-6.  However the Oilers were deducted a team point to keep the Mountain Cats alive.

At 184 lbs. No. 20 Noah Gnibus won a 3-1 decision over Andrew Knick to make it 21-9.

Findlay was then deducted a team point for mat control to keep the Mountain Cats alive.  Pitt-Johnstown took advantage of it.

Eight-ranked Dakoda Rodgers cut the deficit to 20-14 with his 16-1 technical fall at 7:00 over 20th-ranked Jake Kowalski, before Vance pinned Giulian Bodiu at 4:32 to knot it at 20.

However, Findlay won six bouts to the Mountain Cats' four wins, giving the extra team point and the 21-2win.

Findlay, which opened its dual meet season, is now 1-0.

The Mountain Cats will compete in the 2023 Midwest Classic in Indianapolis next weekend, before breaking for the holidays.  Pitt-Johnstown will then kick off the Spring Semester with the Mountain Cat Duals on Jan. 6 in the Sports Center.
