Wrestlers Set for 2024 Super Region I Tournament at Kutztown

Head Coach Pat Pecora's Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers, ranked seventh in the Open Mat Tournament rankings, will travel to Kutztown University's Keystone Arena for the 2024 NCAA Division II Super Region I Tournament on Saturday in search of the program's third straight and 26th NCAA Regional Championship.

Eleven programs are scheduled to participate, with the top three wrestlers in each of the 10 weight classes advancing to the NCAA Division II National Tournament at Hartman Arena in Wichita, Kan. on March 15 and 16.

-- Admission for the day will be $15 for adults and $10 for students (17 and Under and college students) and seniors
-- There are no pass lists for this event.
 
        Along with seventh-ranked Pitt-Johnstown, which claimed its 25th region title last season, this year's Super I Regional Tournament will feature several other of the nation's top-ranked tournament teams, including No. 23 Gannon No. and 25 Kutztown.
 
        In addition to the nationally ranked teams, American International (MA) College, East Stroudsburg, Fairmont State (WV) University, Frostburg State (MD) University, Mercyhurst University, Millersville University, Seton Hill University, and Shippensburg University will also be part of the 11-team field.
 
        Many of the nation's top-ranked individuals will be battling for spots in the national tournament, including Pitt-Johnstown's No. 4-ranked and three-time All-American Jacob Ealy at 149 lbs., 2023 National Qualifier and No. 2 Isaiah Vance (285 lbs.), No. 4 Dakoda Rodgers (197 lbs.) and 2023 National Qualifier and No. 14 Trevon Gray (125 lbs.)
 
        Nine of the ten weight classes boast individually-ranked wrestlers, and  nearly 20 nationally-ranked wrestlers are scheduled for compete.

--Session I will begin on Saturday at 10 a.m., with the First Round, Championship semifinals & consolation quarterfinals (3 mats) followed by consolation semifinals (3 mats).
 
--Session II will follow with the Championship Semifinals, Consolation Round 3, and Semifinals) (3 mats).
 
--Session III will begin at 3 p.m. and consist of Placement Matches: 1st, 3rd, 5th; (True-4th matches to follow if necessary). (3 mats)
