Jacob Ealy (149 lbs.) became the Mountain Cats'15
th individual National Champion on his way to leading a group of four All-Americans at Friday and Saturday's NCAA Division II National Wrestling Championships at the Hartman Arena in Park City, Kan.

As a team, the Mountain Cats placed sixth to mark the program's 38
th Top-20 national finish and 24
th Top-10 finish.

Ealy, Pitt-Johnstown's first champion since Chris Eddins in 2019, jumped out to a 7-0 first period lead over Colorado School of Mines' Cody Thompson with a takedown and four back points. He built the lead to 11-2 in the second period, before earning his national championship with a 12-7 victory.

Pitt-Johnstown now has 15 individual national champions who have combined to win 23 individual title. As a program, the Mountain Cats now have.

Along with Ealy,
Isaiah Vance placed fifth at 285 lbs., while
Trevon Gray (125 lbs.) and
Dakoda Rodgers (197 lbs.) both came away with seventh-place finishes.

To cap off an outstanding tournament for the Mountain Cats, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) presented Head Coach
Pat Pecora with its Division II Bob Bubb Coaching Excellence Award presented annually to one coach across each division of collegiate wrestling who is an outstanding coach and epitomizes the qualities and characteristics of a role model and mentor for developing young student-athletes. Pecora is holds all of college wrestling's record for wins, and he has led his Pitt-Johnstown squad to a pair of Division II National Titles

Central Oklahoma won the team national title, while, Lander, Nebraska-Kearney, McKendree, and St. Cloud State rounded out the top-5.

149 lbs. – After opening the tournament with a pair of wins by decision, second-seeded
Jacob Ealy took on Central Oklahoma's sixth-seeded Dylan Brown in Saturday's semifinals. Ealy fell behind, 3-0, after one period, before using a takedown and two back points to take the lead after the second period on his way to a 6-4 win and a spot in the finals.  Ealy started the tournament by dealing McKendree's Joey Semerad a 4-2 loss in the opening round, and using an overtime takedown to defeat St. Cloud State's #7-seeded Colby Njos, 5-2, in the quarterfinals.

285 lbs. – Super Region I Champion and second-seeded
Isaiah Vance secured also won two matches by decision to earn his spot in the semifinals where he battled third-seeded and defending national champion Shawn Streck (Central Oklahoma). Streck opened-up a 9-3 lead after two periods and went on to a 14-4 major decision win. Vance then lost a 7-3 decision to #5 Crew Howard (Nebraska-Kearney) in the consolation semifinals, before placing fifth with an 8-0 major decision win over Augustana's Zach Peterson. Vance won an 8-2 first round decision over Glenville State's Gavin Shamblin, then shut out Notre Dame's (OH) La'Ron Parks, 3-0, in the quarterfinals.Â

125 lbs. – Two-time Super Region I Champion
Trevon Gray split a pair of matches to start the tournament, before winning two consolation matches to reach Saturday's action. In Saturday's consolation quarterfinals, sixth-seeded Zachary Ourada (Nebraska-Kearney) got a first period takedown and went on to an 8-2 victory, sending Gray to the seventh-place match.  Gray jumped lout to an early lead and defeated Davenport's Manuel Leija, 7-2, to claim his first All-American finish by placing seventh. On Friday, Gray won his first match with a 16-1 technical fall at 3:39 over Newman's Dylan Sheler in a pigtail match, before suffering a 9-6 setback to eighth-seeded Isaiah Gamez (Adams State) in round one. Gray bounced back to pin Seton Hill's William Burgess at 4:49 in the first round of the consolations and won a 4-2 decision over Anthony Aniciete (Tiffin) to secure All-American honors.

197 lbs. – Two-time NCAA National Qualifier and 2024 Super Region I Champion
Dakoda Rodgers, seeded fifth, also won two straight matches after a loss in Friday's quarterfinals. In Saturday's consolation quarterfinals against No. 8 Jackson Kinsella (Nebraska-Kearney), Rodgers fell 5-1 to slip to the seventh-place match where he defeated Grand Valley State's Wyatt Miller, 5-1, for the second time in the tournament. Rodgers slipped by Miller, 4-3, in the opening round, before falling, 5-2 to McKendree's Logan Kvien in the quarterfinals. Rodgers then got a takedown with :16 left in overtime to down West Liberty's Mason Wyatt on Christian, 4-1, in the second round of the consolations to advance to Saturday and secure a spot on the podium.

157 lbs. – 2024 regional champion
Cooper Warshel began the tournament with a 10-5 pigtail victory over Colorado State-Pueblo's Cyruss Meeks, then fell to seventh-ranked Maxwell Kiel (Belmont-Abbey) in the first round. Warshel was then knocked out of the tournament when Gannon's Ethan Richner held on for a narrow, 5-3, win in the first round of the consolations.

Mason Myers suffered a first-round loss to sixth-seeded Nick James (Nebraska-Kearney), before being eliminated with a 14-4 loss to Angel Flores (Adams State) in a pigtail consolation match.
